Why use GENIE?

User-Focussed Interventions

Genie has been specifically designed to help you with your interventions with users. Genie helps you map our personal support networks and identify preferred areas of interest. Genie focuses on the capacity to mobilise networks for social support in a manner focussed on the user and the collective efficacy of personal communities. It provides a visual representation of an individual’s support network that can be returned to and updated to show changes over time.

Saves You Time

Genie reduces the amount of time you spend on preparing for meetings and increases contact time with users (Kennedy et al. 2016, Vassilev et al, 2019, James et al, 2020). It also helps you manage the enormous diversity of organisation types and support available locally and online. Genie give you easy access to users profiles and preferences and providers automatic measures of network change, demonstrating the impact of services for users.

Evidence-Based Improvements in Health & Wellbeing

Genie has been shown to improve health and wellbeing in its users, including improvements in health-related quality of life, nutrition, anxiety and depression as well as reducing blood pressure. Users effectively activate existing networks, increasing engagement and frequency of contacts and encouraging and increasing links with diverse groups and activities. Genie is also proven to save time and money.

Demonstrates the impact of your service

Community based support by link workers is often difficult to demonstrate. As a part of the Genie intervention you will be able to show positive changes in the lives of people who you support using the measures of engagement with activities and network changes that are collected and reported as a part of the Genie intervention. These can be added to what individual users themselves define as positive changes, and individual case studies.
